Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Addison Township, IL, seeks a Senior Data Engineer to advance our data platform. You will design pipelines, partner with IT and stakeholders, and deliver analytics initiatives across cloud and on-prem systems.

You will mentor peers, influence architecture, and own data warehousing, security, and governance practices while working with AWS, Airflow, and Talend tools. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering or related field
  • 3–5 years of related experience in data engineering or analytics environments
  • Experience building data pipelines and data integration programs

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and support implemented applications
  • Work in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) including requirements, prototyping, coding, testing, deployment and support
  • Participate in daily scrums and collaborate with QA and Scrum Master to meet timelines
  • Solve problems independently with limited supervision and assist other developers
  • Deliver high-quality software and coach peers and juniors
  • Identify opportunities for technical improvements and advocate for implementation
  • Influence high-level architectural decisions and design recommendations

This is a high impact role reporting into the head of data engineering and will involve working closely with IT, business stakeholders and external vendors to deliver on data and analytics initiatives.Key Job ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and support implemented applicationsWork in all phases of the software development life cycle including functional analysis, development of technical requirements, prototyping, coding, testing, deployment, and supportParticipate in daily scrums, work with Scrum Master and QA Team on projects, and support delivery timelines and prioritiesSolves problems independently with limited supervision and assists other developers with technical questionsConsistently delivers high quality software and provides coaching to peers and junior team members.
