Job Description

Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) is enhancing its data management capabilities. Its teams in Data Steward and Data Architecture will play a pivotal role in driving the enhancement and ongoing sustainment of the data management program. This role requires a structured approach to managing risk and business enablement priorities from a data perspective, combining global and regional requirements. It also involves partnering with stakeholders in GCIB and across the Enterprise to ensure regulatory compliance, improve GCIB's data architecture, strengthen data governance frameworks, and enhance operational excellence to achieve GCIB's goal of being best-in-class.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Transform GCIB's data strategy into executable plans and ensure successful execution.
  2. Implement Data Steward team requirements and plans effectively.
  3. Coordinate data architecture initiatives with GCIB Technology, Enterprise Data Architecture, and Lines of Business for sustainable implementation.
  4. Conduct horizon scanning through regular reviews with business leaders, analyzing data issues, incidents, and regulatory exam results to inform data strategies.
  5. Support compliance with policies and standards for GCIB data management roles, maintaining evidence of adherence.
  6. Engage regularly with stakeholders to review data risks and issues.
  7. Participate in audits, regulatory exams, and assessments.
  8. Establish structured channels for reviewing GCIB processes to ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
  9. Coordinate with GCIB product areas to align on implementation approaches.
  10. Escalate program risks and collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions and mitigation plans.
  11. Build strong relationships to facilitate buy-in, consensus, and conflict resolution within a large, distributed organization.

Key Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data risk management or similar roles.
  • Proven experience in data management roles.
  • Strong leadership qualities and results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex data concepts for executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Passion for fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Experience handling global data issues and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of GCIB business and products, with ownership of delivery.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups, including bankers, senior leaders, risk partners, and regulators.
  • Control-focused mindset with a good understanding of regulatory and reputational risks.

Pay Transparency Details:

US - NJ - Jersey City - 101 Hudson St; US - NY - New York - ONE BRYANT PARK

Pay range: $110,000 - $175,000 annually, based on experience, education, and skills. This role is eligible for discretionary bonuses and benefits, supporting employees' growth and community contributions.
