Job Summary

Under the immediate supervision of the Sr. Custodian Supervisor, a Lead Custodian, or the Operations Manager, the incumbent performs the following:

Duties And Essential Job Functions

1. Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste and Soiled Linen (15%): Follows Infection Control Policies. Empties and cleans waste receptacles, replaces liners, labels and removes waste, collects soiled linen, transports waste and linen using appropriate carts and trucks.
2. Floor Care (30%): Sweeps, mops, vacuums, strips, scrubs, and polishes floors and carpets using standard equipment, including electric and battery-powered machines.
3. General Cleaning (50%): Dusts and washes furniture and fixtures, cleans restrooms, sinks, fixtures, and surfaces, may use ladders for higher cleaning tasks.
4. Supplies and Equipment (3%): Requisitions supplies, maintains inventory, refills dispensers, and observes safety regulations.
5. Other Functions and Responsibilities (2%): Performs additional duties such as cleaning beds, gurneys, trash cans, moving furniture, inspecting work, and responding to emergencies.
