Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to improve profitability.

You will maintain the general ledger, perform variance analysis, oversee inventory costs, and collaborate with multiple departments. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of cost accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, and strong Excel and accounting software skills.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Performing financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decisions.
• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
• Conducting variance analysis to understand differences between budgeted and actual figures.
• Overseeing inventory control and conducting inventory analysis to optimize stock levels.
• Performing cost analysis and manufacturing cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
• Preparing, reviewing, and distributing monthly financial statements.
• Ensuring compliance with financial accounting standards and company policies.
• Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve financial reporting.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or CPA certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or a related role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, general ledger, account reconciliation, financial accounting, variance analysis, inventory control, and cost analysis.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost analysis and inventory analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
