Duties, Responsibilities & Other
  • Perform construction inspection and reporting of concrete, earthwork, and asphalt pavement.
  • Supervise subordinate construction inspectors and provide assistance to project management as required.
  • Review reports, testing procedures, and documentation prepared by subordinate inspectors to ensure compliance with client policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Project Administrator as required.
  • Driver's license is required. Day and/or night work may be necessary to support the contractor's schedule.
  • Require 4+ years' experience in construction inspection, with at least 4 years in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or a Civil Engineering Degree with 4 years of experience and ability to earn additional qualifications within a year.
  • Experience in road and bridge construction inspection, material sampling and testing, and reporting.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 4 - 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is required. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based on the position.
Performance Expectations
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide input to project management.
  • Identify training needs and arrange for staff training.
  • Supervise onsite team.
  • Accurately record and report daily forms per project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Proactively resolve problems at the lowest level.
  • Adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
  • Submit accurate timesheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week.
  • Review job site safety daily and take immediate action to document and resolve issues.
  • Follow OSHA Safety Standards and company policies at all times.
  • Maintain all required certifications and participate in training courses as needed.
  • Perform all tasks according to applicable industry standards and client requirements.
