THE ROLE

As a Senior Commodity Manager, you will architect and execute global sourcing strategies that safeguard our supply continuity while driving competitive cost advantages. You will act as a strategic bridge between R&D, Finance, and Manufacturing to ensure our hardware innovations are supported by a world‑class supplier ecosystem. By leading high‑stakes negotiations and mitigating geopolitical risks, you play a pivotal role in maintaining the operational agility that defines our market leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Strategic Sourcing & Portfolio Ownership: Design and implement multi‑year commodity roadmaps that align with product lifecycles, ensuring we secure the highest quality components at the best total cost of ownership.
  • Supplier Lifecycle Excellence: Cultivate executive‑level partnerships with global suppliers to drive innovation, performance, and transparency, moving beyond transactional procurement to create long‑term value.
  • Risk Mitigation & Supply Resilience: Proactively analyze market dynamics and geopolitical trends to develop contingency plans, ensuring our production remains insulated from global supply chain disruptions.
  • Cross‑Functional Product Influence: Collaborate early in the design phase with Engineering and Product Management to influence material selection, ensuring "design‑for‑supply" principles are met for new product launches.
  • Cost Optimization & KPIs: Lead complex negotiations and cost‑reduction initiatives to meet annual savings targets and improve gross margins across the enterprise.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Strategic Commodity Expertise: Deep professional experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, specifically focused on navigating complex commodity markets and technical hardware components.
  • Negotiation & Influence: Proven ability to lead high‑pressure negotiations and build consensus among internal stakeholders and external executive leadership to achieve favorable business outcomes.
  • Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in using data‑driven insights, ERP systems, and financial modeling to forecast market trends, manage inventory levels, and drive strategic decision‑making.
  • Operational Leadership: A track record of guiding cross‑functional teams and mentoring colleagues to foster a culture of continuous improvement and supply chain excellence.

We are primaril y a n in‑office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Houston office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
