Job summary

Draper and Kramer Corp in Chicago seeks a Senior Commercial Mortgage Originator to grow our national lending platform. You will originate CRE loans across life company, HUD/FHA, agency, and bank channels, and cultivate borrower relationships.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years CRE finance, proven origination track record, and strong negotiation skills; experience with agency, life company, or debt fund lenders is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial real estate finance experience.
• Background in mortgage banking, CRE lending, or capital markets.
• Strong knowledge of commercial real estate underwriting and loan structures.
• Ability to originate and structure complex financing transactions.

Draper and Kramer is seeking a Senior Commercial Mortgage Originator to expand our national lending platform. The successful candidate will develop new client relationships, structure complex real estate financing transactions, and grow origination volume across multiple lending platforms including life company, our direct HUD/FHA lending platform, agency, bank, bridge, and construction financing.

Ideal Candidate Profiles

• Proven origination track record

Business Development & Origination

Deal Structuring & Capital Markets Execution

• Structure sophisticated debt solutions across the capital stack.
• Evaluate borrower needs and match transactions with the optimal capital source.
• Lead negotiations with lenders to secure competitive financing terms.
• Coordinate internal underwriting, due diligence, and closing processes.
• Guide transactions from initial engagement through closing.

Platform Development

• Expand Draper and Kramer’s lending platform by developing new borrower relationships.
• Identify emerging capital sources and lender relationships.
• Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
• Contribute to the strategic growth of the Commercial Finance Group.
• Work closely with underwriting, closing, and servicing teams to execute transactions efficiently.
• Mentor junior team members and analysts.
• Contribute to recruiting and platform growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial real estate finance experience
