Job summary

Oorwin AI seeks a senior COBOL/COBOL-based systems specialist to lead development and maintenance of complex, mission-critical applications in a Windows-based client-server environment. You will work with business units to refine specifications, oversee L3 production support, and guide a technical software development team.

Required are 6+ years with Visual COBOL/COBOL, 10+ years in client-server Windows environments, and a Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with Visual COBOL and/or COBOL
• Experience coding and testing COBOL-based business systems in Oracle SQL databases
• 5+ years leading a technical software development team
• 10+ years of experience in Windows-based client-server environments
• Experience providing Level 3 production support
• Experience liaising with business units to develop and review specs and ensure delivery
• 10+ years of experience with system analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation techniques

6+ Years of Experience with Visual and/or Micro Focus COBOL

Working knowledge of Visual COBOL V9

10+ Years of Experience developing and maintaining complex, mission critical applications in a Windows based Client Server environment.

5+ Years of Experience Leading a technical software development team in planning and deployment of software systems.

10+ Years of Experience coding and testing complex COBOL based business systems in an Oracle SQL database and Windows based client-server environment.

5+ Years Experience providing Level 3 (L3) production support

5+ Years Experience functioning as the primary contact with business units to develop and review business and technical specifications and ensure delivery of specified functionality.

10+ Years of experience with computer system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation techniques and practices for developing new systems or modifying existing systems.

Preferred Skills

Oracle 19+ SQL

Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET / C# development environment

Experience working in a Governmental environment

Bachelor’s Degree In Computer Science or a closely related discipline
