Job summary

Oteemo, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to design large-scale, cross-cloud solutions and lead a small team of Cloud Engineers. The role focuses on platform and infrastructure architecture across cloud and hybrid on-prem environments, with advocacy to executives.

You will own system administration, networking, CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, and security tooling integration. Strong Azure/Kubernetes/Linux experience and IaC expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a systems administrator in Azure, Kubernetes, and Linux.
• At least 1 year leading a team of engineers.
• Experience presenting to C-Suite and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes (AKS, GKE, EKS, RKE2, K3D, OpenShift, etc.), AKS preferred.
• Strong TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and Linux administration knowledge.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef; Terraform preferred).
• Bash and Python scripting for automation; hands-on automation experience.
• Experience implementing and integrating security tooling into the operational stack.
• Must have one of the following security certifications: Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, CCNA Security.

Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join our team of hands-on engineering consultants, supporting customer development, test, and production environments. This role is for an experienced Platform and Infrastructure Architect capable of identifying and implementing end-to-end solutions for a large, complex system of systems across both cloud and hybrid on-premise environments. You'll function as a subject matter expert for the customer, leading a small team of Cloud Engineers to identify, propose, develop, and implement infrastructure and platform solutions — while advocating your designs effectively with both C-Suite leaders and non-technical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design large-scale system solutions and communicate and advocate designs effectively to C-Suite leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead and manage a small team of Cloud Engineers.
• Own system administration, networking, and CI/CD pipeline administration in GitLab.
• Manage pipeline and security tooling, including vulnerability assessments and scanning.
• Administer Kubernetes clusters, including AKS and on-prem K8s.
• Build and maintain testing infrastructure, including machine and container images.
• Perform upgrades and ongoing maintenance of system infrastructure and tooling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a systems administrator in Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, and Linux.
• At least 1 year of experience leading a team of engineers.
• Experience building and delivering engineering presentations for C-Suite leaders and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Kubernetes (AKS, GKE, EKS, RKE2, K3D, OpenShift, etc.), with AKS preferred.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and Linux administration.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef; Terraform preferred).
• Experience with Bash and Python scripting for automation.
• Hands-on experience automating development and infrastructure tasking.
• Hands-on experience implementing and integrating security tooling into the operational stack.
• Must have one of the following:
  • Security+ CE
  • CySA+
  • GSEC
  • CCNA Security

Nice to Have Qualfications:

• Experience building and deploying container images with Docker, Podman, or Helm.
• Hands-on experience with service catalog self-service automation.
• Experience using AI for automation.
• Proof of completed training or coursework in one of the following: Linux+, Red Hat, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Proof of completed training in Microsoft Azure covering both AZ-104 and AZ-305.
