Summary:
Under the clinical supervision of an independently licensed therapist, provide outpatient individual, family, and group therapy to adults with behavioral health disorders, adhering to best practice treatment strategies effective for their diagnostic needs. Treatment is provided in a clinic setting. Adults may have complex diagnostic profiles, including trauma, eating disorders, medical conditions, cognitive disorders, substance use, and serious mental illness.
Responsibilities:
- Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients.
- Maintain current knowledge of diagnostic and treatment strategies for specialized populations; seek out clinical information to improve competency.
- Conduct intake assessments and required screenings in accordance with standards of practice for clients coming through hospital discharges, emergency services, and scheduled appointments.
- Develop client- and family-centered Treatment Plans addressing clinical needs based on best practices.
- Provide outpatient services including individual, family, and group therapy using effective treatment strategies, being responsive to client issues and behaviors.
- Conduct crisis assessments for clients at risk of harm, recommend interventions, and complete safety plans involving families.
- Assess clients' potential need for pharmacological treatment, referring to prescribers and coordinating care.
- Provide psycho-educational services based on prescribed modality, including information on behavior disorders, mental illness, substance abuse, and community resources.
- Enhance knowledge of evidence-based diagnostic and treatment strategies for adults with serious mental illness.
- Coordinate care with team members, primary care physicians, and other providers to promote recovery.
- Document collaboratively with clients in progress notes and review documents.
- Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries per standards and timelines.
- Identify family needs supported by community resources and maintain familiarity with referral methods.
- Recognize indicators of abuse and neglect, responding appropriately.
- Maintain knowledge of psychiatric medications, collaborating with prescribers to address client needs and medication adherence.
- Perform case presentations, synthesizing client needs and team input during clinical meetings.
- Attend meetings and trainings punctually, actively participating in discussions.
- Participate in supervision and potentially provide clinical supervision in line with licensure.
- Maintain good work habits, including punctuality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Information:
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in social work, marriage/family counseling, rehabilitation counseling, mental health counseling, or related field.
- Associate-level license such as LCSW, LMHA, or LMFA.
- At least two years of experience working with adults with behavioral health disorders, including complex conditions like trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse, and serious mental illness.
Special Requirements:
- Flexible schedule with evening hours.
- Knowledge of community resources.

- Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions professionally.
- Successfully complete required training and certifications.
