Job description

Summary:

Provide outpatient individual, family, and group therapy to adults with behavioral health disorders, adhering to best practice treatment strategies effective for their diagnostic needs. Treatment is provided in a clinic setting. In addition to mood and anxiety disorders, adults may have complicated diagnostic profiles including trauma, eating disorders, complex medical conditions, cognitive disorders, substance use, and serious mental illness.

Responsibilities:

1. Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients.
2. Maintain current knowledge of diagnostic and treatment strategies for specialized populations; utilize clinical information to enhance competency.
3. Conduct intake assessments and required screenings following standards of practice for clients from hospital discharges, emergency services, and scheduled appointments.
4. Develop client- and family-centered Treatment Plans addressing clinical needs based on best practices.
5. Provide outpatient services including individual, family, and group therapy using effective treatment strategies; respond to client issues and behaviors.
6. Conduct crisis assessments for clients at risk of harm, recommend appropriate interventions, and complete safety plans involving families.
7. Assess the potential need for pharmacological treatment, referring to prescribers, and coordinate ongoing care.
8. Deliver psycho-educational services as prescribed, including information on behavior disorders, mental illness, substance abuse, and community resources.
9. Enhance knowledge of evidence-based treatment strategies for adults with serious mental illness.
10. Coordinate care with team members, primary care physicians, and other providers to promote recovery.
11. Document collaboratively with clients in progress notes and review documents.
12. Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and according to standards.
13. Identify family needs and facilitate referrals to community resources.
14. Recognize and respond appropriately to indicators of abuse and neglect.
15. Maintain knowledge of psychiatric medications and collaborate with prescribers to support medication adherence.
16. Present case summaries at clinical meetings, integrating team input.
17. Participate actively in meetings and trainings; provide supervision as scheduled.
18. Support team members and maintain good work habits, including punctuality and productivity.
19. Mentor new clinicians, case managers, and interns.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
• Independently licensed (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, PhD, etc.).
• At least two years of experience with adults with behavioral health disorders, including complex cases.

Additional Requirements:

• Flexible schedule with evening hours.
• Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and liability insurance.
• Knowledge of community resources; advocacy and teaching skills.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

Physical and Environmental Demands:
