Job summary

A leading community health care provider in Columbia, Maryland is seeking a PRN Senior Cardiac Sonographer to join their elite team. In this role, you will perform echocardiographic studies and provide preliminary diagnostic evaluations in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited sonography program, hold a valid RDCS or RDMS certification, and possess two years of non-invasive cardiology experience. This position offers competitive pay with a fixed rate of $53.00/hour.

  • Valid CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inpatient and outpatient echocardiographic studies and doppler flows.

The Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center's Cardiac Diagnostic Services Department provides electrocardiograph monitoring and evaluation. It evaluates chest discomfort, shortness of breath, anti‑arrhythmic therapies, and pacemaker function. It also helps physicians confirm reports of heart palpitations and poor blood supply to the heart.

Our Echo department is searching for a PRN Senior Cardiac Sonographer to join their elite team. As a Sr Echo Tech you will:

  • Perform inpatient and outpatient echocardiographic studies, transopageal, stress echo, and doppler flows
  • Perform all aspects of ultrasound imaging - transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress
  • Interact with echo students, physicians and other medical professionals
  • Advise cardiologist of results of examination and provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited sonography program in Echocardiography
  • Two (2) years experience of non-invasive cardiology
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Valid CPR certification

Salary Range:

Minimum 53.00/hour - Maximum 53.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
