Job summary

Hydrogen Group is partnering with an established pharmaceutical services organization to identify a Senior Buyer/Planner for their Costa Mesa, CA operations. This full-time, on-site role focuses on procurement, material planning, and supplier management to keep manufacturing on schedule.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in life sciences supply chain with CDMO/pharma experience, GMP familiarity, and a Bachelor’s degree plus ERP/MRP skills to optimize inventory and vendor relations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or manufacturing support within the life sciences industry.
• Experience in a CDMO or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements; aseptic manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, and supplier relations.
• Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and material planning for raw materials, components, packaging, and manufacturing supplies.
• Develop demand forecasts and purchasing plans aligned with production schedules and client requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships, purchasing agreements, pricing negotiations, and vendor performance.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse, and Project Management teams to address material and supply chain risks.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, material flow, expiration tracking, and warehouse coordination.
• Support vendor qualification, incoming material requirements, and GMP compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize processes.

I'm partnering with an established pharmaceutical services organization supporting GMP drug product manufacturing and client programs to identify a Senior Buyer/Planner for their growing operations. This is an opportunity to join a cross-functional supply chain team, overseeing procurement, material planning, supplier relationships, and inventory management to ensure manufacturing operations remain well-supported and on schedule.
