About the Role
We’re seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to lead the full-cycle procurement of critical materials and equipment for dynamic, high-impact projects. This role combines operational execution with strategic influence—ensuring on-time, cost-effective, and quality delivery of goods from sourcing through to delivery at the job site.
You’ll partner across planning, sourcing, logistics, and supplier quality teams to optimize supply performance and mitigate risk. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, bring clarity to complexity, and love building value through strategic sourcing—this role is for you.
What You Bring
- 7+ years in purchasing, planning, or supply chain functions—preferably in construction, industrial, or project-driven environments.
- Expertise in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Eclipse), supply planning, and procurement execution.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a big-picture mindset paired with tactical precision.
- Strong business acumen with experience reading technical drawings, BOMs/BOEs, and interpreting complex data.
- Polished communication and negotiation skills—comfortable working across all levels of the organization and external partners.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Certified or working knowledge of industry best practices (APICS, CSCP, CPPM, etc.) is a strong plus.
What You'll Do
- Lead the procurement cycle for key materials and equipment—placing and managing purchase orders, coordinating delivery logistics, and managing lease agreements.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality deliveries while maintaining full visibility into order status and risks.
- Track and expedite orders, troubleshoot issues, and communicate proactively with stakeholders across planning, project management, and suppliers.
- Resolve vendor issues related to quality, lead time, or pricing while reinforcing relationships and contract compliance.
- Collaborate with the Sourcing team to build and execute category strategies and drive supplier performance improvements.
- Analyze supply data to optimize purchasing parameters (cost, reorder points, safety stock, etc.) and support inventory health.
- Drive continuous improvement—from internal processes to supplier initiatives—with a mindset toward efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Develop and deliver training, KPIs, reports, and analytics that elevate purchasing processes and system adoption.
- Partner cross-functionally to identify at-risk materials and propose solutions like alternative suppliers or expedited logistics.
- Own supplier communication on pricing changes, availability issues, and other developments affecting project timelines or budgets.
