Position Overview

The Senior Business Development (BD) Analyst applies technical and commercial knowledge to perform evaluations and financial analysis, supporting project screening, due diligence, contracting, development, construction, and operations. Responsibilities include conducting technical and financial due diligence, supporting contract negotiations for renewable assets and customer offtake agreements, and providing technical support for utility-scale renewable energy projects. The analyst coordinates with financial analysts to integrate due diligence results into project financial models, monitors project development progress, and researches industry trends and pricing.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Perform technical evaluations and financial analysis; research industry trends and pricing; support project development, construction, and operations for wind, solar, and storage projects.
  2. Coordinate support from internal SMEs, consultants, and partners for asset acquisition, development, and operation; prepare and analyze power purchase agreements (PPAs).
  3. Evaluate due diligence findings with financial analysts; assist in preparing bids, proposals, and reports.
  4. Conduct site visits and evaluate assets for acquisition or development; participate in stakeholder meetings.
  5. Monitor contract commitments and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  6. Track development milestones to ensure schedule and budget adherence.
  7. Prepare due diligence and presentation materials for management and board.
  8. Analyze performance of operating assets and create summaries of results.
  9. Serve as SME on relevant topics; stay updated on industry trends.
  10. Support project development activities, including environmental studies and land agreements.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • PE license preferred or ability to obtain one.
  • 4+ years of experience in business development, engineering, or finance, preferably in renewable energy.
  • Experience with resource assessments, land agreements, interconnection studies, market evaluations, and project permitting.
  • Experience in advancing utility-scale renewable projects from early stages to operation.
  • Desirable: experience in due diligence, contract negotiations, customer relationships, and renewable technology services.
