The Senior BD Analyst performs technical and financial due diligence, supports contract negotiations for development-stage renewables assets and customer offtake agreements, and provides technical support for utility-scale renewable energy projects. The analyst coordinates with financial analysts to ensure that technical due diligence results are integrated into project financial models, monitors project development progress, and researches industry and market trends and pricing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Perform technical evaluations and financial analysis, research industry/market trends and pricing, and support screening, evaluation, due diligence, and contract negotiations for renewable energy projects. Assist in project development, construction, and operations for utility-scale renewables (wind, solar, storage), collaborating with internal teams and external consultants/contractors.
  2. Coordinate and manage support from internal SMEs, consultants, advisors, contractors, partners, and developers for acquisition, development, or operation of renewable assets. Prepare and analyze power purchase agreements (PPAs) with input from subject matter experts.
  3. Evaluate due diligence findings with financial analysts to ensure integration into financial models. Assist in preparing bids, proposals, and due diligence reports.
  4. Conduct site visits and evaluate prospective assets for acquisition or development. Participate in meetings with stakeholders, landowners, and agencies.
  5. Monitor and coordinate delivery of contract commitments, maintaining positive relationships with customers and partners.
  6. Track progress of development milestones to meet schedule and budget commitments.
  7. Prepare due diligence and presentation materials for management and board, including risk registers and reports.
  8. Analyze performance of operating assets, comparing actual vs. budgets and original decisions, and summarize results.
  9. Serve as SME, tracking industry trends and developments.
  10. Support project development activities such as environmental studies, land lease/purchase options, preliminary engineering, and financing coordination.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with resource assessments, development studies, land agreements, interconnection, market evaluations, siting, permitting, and related activities.
  • Experience in advancing renewable assets into design, construction, and operation, including public meetings.
  • Experience in due diligence, contract negotiations, and reporting is desirable.
  • Experience in customer relationship management and business development practices is desirable.
  • Knowledge of key technologies and services for renewable energy project acquisition, development, and operation.
