Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards, cleanroom protocols (no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc.), cold room/freezers at -22°F/-6°C, fluctuating hot/cold temperatures, laboratory setting, loud noises from equipment/machinery, no contact lenses (prescriptive glasses provided), office environment, rapid flashing lights, PPE requirements (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs), standing for full shift, exposure to strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products), various outside weather conditions, warehouse environment, working with hazardous/toxic materials, working at heights.

Location/Division Specific Information

St. Louis, MO / Drug Substance Division—part of the Pharma Services Group, specializing in small and large molecule development and commercial drug substance services, serving various pharma sectors globally.

Provide PPI improvement ideas, perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, install, repair, and maintain building and equipment systems using trade skills, operate machinery requiring certification, stay updated on safety procedures, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical breakdowns, lead and participate in problem-solving teams, communicate effectively, demonstrate leadership, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

Experience with electrical/electronic repairs, Windows-based PCs, team collaboration, limited supervision.

A Day in the Life:

• Operate, maintain, and repair production equipment, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems following safety and quality standards.
• Assist with electrical repairs, with preferred experience in industrial systems, mechanical, electrical, and computer systems.
• Perform technical repairs on HVAC, electrical systems, machining, welding, high-pressure gases.
• Knowledge of electrical installation, AC/DC drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• Support maintenance systems (SAP), lubricants, and predictive maintenance technologies; participate in efficiency programs.
• Follow safety and environmental policies, perform tasks as assigned.

Keys to Success:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.

Experience:

• At least 3 years in maintenance and HVAC.
• Multi-skilled in HVAC, welding, mechanical, high-pressure gases, PLCs preferred.
• Understanding of HVAC installation, motor drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, and cooling systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Experience with industrial systems.
• Willing to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to read and interpret scientific and technical documents.

• Follow safety policies, be aware of potential hazards like moving parts, heights, chemicals, noise.
