We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated candidate to help assist in the growth of our Portland, Maine office. This is an exciting ground floor opportunity for the candidate looking for long term career growth and a chance to build a team.

Responsibilities:

Duties primarily include engineering related to bridge/culvert and highway design projects. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Project oversight and delivery, preparation/review of plans and specifications, and client communications and meetings.
• Project coordination with technical quality control and oversight involving most if not all the types of tasks listed below: Providing conceptual input on the development of design projects.
• Preparation of design plans, calculations, details and public bidding documents.
• Providing quality control reviews of design.
• Proficient in technical writing.
• Potential for field review of construction progress at construction milestones.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in civil/structural engineering with 8-12+ years consulting experience in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Maine.
• Experience delivering transportation related projects with local and state government agencies in Maine and/or other New England States.
• Experience with bridge projects.
• Proficiency with Microstation.
• Knowledge of Open Roads Designer a plus but not required.
• Ability to mentor younger staff.

Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
