Primary Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Senior Bridge Engineer include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium to large sized bridge design and/or inspection projects with a high degree of technical complexity, involving a diverse project staff. Is involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently. Establishes client relations and is involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. Conducts schematic, design development and contract document work sessions in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines. Ensures project deliverables and supporting documentation are complete, understandable, conform to applicable and reasonable standards relative to their intended purpose, including client and HDR requirements. Is responsible to coordinate the staffing and workload through the entire project development to complete documents on
schedule. Works with Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and the Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews. Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and completing reviews of bridge plans for complex projects. Responsible for execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans. Acts as mentor/supervisor for less experienced Project Managers. Maintains professional engineering registration. Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
BS/MS in Structural Engineering or closely related field.
15+ years project and client management experience with significant project experience and client contacts.
NBIS Certification Required and NCTI & SPRAT certifications and NHI Course 130078 preferred.
Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills.
Ability to interact with various design teams, including excellent organizational, project management and communication both written and verbal.
Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills.
MS Office experience.
