Job description

STV Inc. is seeking a Part-time highly motivated Senior Bridge Engineer Business Developer, who wants to be a part of our dynamic Pittsburgh Transportation group. In joining our team, you will be able to leverage your career experiences and expertise in project management and business development and contribute to the growth of the structural group. You would be expected to perform a mix of duties ranging from design project and team management, and marketing activities.

What you will do:

  • Manages structural aspects of projects and/or multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Actively participates and leads business development by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service, and assisting in preparing proposals on various pursuits.
  • Takes active mentoring role; encourages, motivates, and develops staff for high performance.
  • Design & analysis of new and existing bridges, retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other structures related to the transportation industry.
  • Bridge rehabilitation design.
  • Bridge load ratings.
  • Construction document production, including drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
  • Perform constructability reviews.
  • Review of shop drawings, and providing response to contractor's request for information.
  • Providing quality check of engineer's computations, designs, or inspection reports.
  • Prepare Quality Control Documentation.
  • Assist in proposal development.
  • Mentor the design team.
  • Develop Design pursuit structural packages.
  • Prepare construction engineering on Design projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated skill at project management/business development.
  • Ability to lead engineering on bridge and infrastructure projects and are able to play a key role in project delivery from inception to construction, with proven ability to work with clients.
  • Ability to use structural analysis and design software, such as Midas, LARS, MDX, V-Bent, CSi Bridge, Leap Bridge, STAAD, AASHTOWARE, PennDOT Programs.
  • Proficiency in the use of MicroStation (preferred) and/or AutoCAD.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the structural design and management of bridges and infrastructure projects.
  • Detailed understanding of structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, pre-stressed concrete, and timber structures, related to transportation.
  • PA PE License required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel, Word and Mathcad.
  • Flexible and adapts well to work sharing opportunities on projects throughout PA and other states.
  • Current driver's license and safe driving record.

Compensation Range:

$113,750.37 - $151,667.16
