The Role

As an experienced Beverage Development Professional, you will join Synergy Flavors’ development teams and independently develop and optimize finished product formulations using various flavor delivery systems. You will get the opportunity to work on market‑leading beverage products and contribute to tasks from reverse engineering finished products to providing technical support at customer demos and plant trials.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop and optimize finished product formulations using various flavor delivery systems.
• Reverse engineer finished products from label declaration and nutrition panels.
• Understand finished product batching and processing, and maintain general flavor knowledge.
• Stay current with new ingredients, flavor trends, and industry standards.
• Provide technical support to customers during demos and presentations with account managers.
• Lead cross‑functional teams and key accounts to create demos and presentations.
• Provide technical support at plant trials and production runs for customers.
• Participate in routine taste panels.
• Understand the background of incoming requests and lead projects independently in planning, analysis, and communication.
• Solve complex problems, gathering information from multiple sources.
• Mentor and coach junior employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or other applied science.
• 7 or more years of application lab experience in beverage product development.
• Strong background in carbonated soft drinks or juices; experience running a microthermics is a plus.
• Accurate, quick, and good laboratory practices across multiple projects within a day/week.
• Experience taking a beverage product from conception through development to commercialization.
• Good documentation skills and proficiency in Excel, Word and assorted databases.
• Knowledge of recipes, basic mixing and blending skills, and ability to follow formulations precisely.
• Interest and ability to interact directly with customers or travel with account managers.
• Positive attitude, team player, engaging communication style.

Compensation

Starting range: $82,000–$110,500. Final compensation depends on geography, skills, experience and other factors.
