Job summary

Synergy Flavors, part of the Carbery Group, is seeking an Applications Technologist I to support the development of a wide variety of beverage products at our Wauconda, IL campus. The role offers hands-on experience with a team of technologists who have developed leading beverage products seen in stores today.

You will optimize beverage formulations, screen flavors, and assist with production formulas while collaborating with sales, marketing, and the flavor creation team to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or other applied science.
• 0-3 years of application lab experience in beverage product development.
• Good documentation skills and ability to work with Excel, Word, and various databases.
• Positive attitude, team player, and effective communicator.

Responsibilities

• Optimize beverage-based formulations with understanding of processing parameters.
• Screen flavors in various beverage bases.
• Complete selection and resample projects in a timely manner.
• Participate in routine taste panels to understand flavor language.
• Provide technical support on customer calls.
• Write basic production formulas with guidance from Senior Applications Technologist.

The position offers you the opportunity to join Synergy Flavors, one of the leading international suppliers of flavor and ingredients to the global food and beverage industry. You will be able to work with a team of technologists that have developed some of the market leading beverage products you see in stores today.

Position Summary: The Applications Technologist I position supports the development of a wide variety of beverage products.

We offer you the opportunity to:

• Optimize beverage based formulations with understanding of processing parameters.
• Screen flavors in various beverage bases.
• Completeselection and resample projects in a timely manner.
• Participate in routine taste panels to understand flavor language.
• Work collaboratively with sales and marketing presentations and demos for customers.
• Utilize flavor knowledge to select best flavor for each application and work closely with flavor creation team to optimize flavors when needed
• Provide technical support on customer calls
• Perform routine processing of batches (carbonation, analytical tests, etc.)
• Write basic production formulas with guidance of Senior Applications Technologist.
• Make minor revisions to existing formulas under direct supervision.

In order to be successful in this position we require:

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or other applied science.
• 0-3 years of application lab experience in beverage product development.
• Ability to work accurately, quickly and with good laboratory practices across multiple projects within the day/week.
• You must possess good documentation skills, and be adept at working within programs such as Excel, Word & assorted databases.
• Soft skills: we are looking for someone with a positive attitude, a team player, engaging and able to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively.

Salary Range: $56,000 to 76,000

The actual compensation that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. This role will remain open until filled.
