Position Summary

The Sr. Associate, Construction Project Manager supports and co-manages EV charging infrastructure projects with growing independence, taking ownership of defined workstreams while working under the guidance of senior construction project managers. This role applies developing knowledge of construction project delivery to coordinate scheduling, documentation, contractor communication, and site tracking across an assigned project portfolio. The Sr. Associate is building toward independent project ownership, handles moderately complex coordination tasks with limited supervision, and contributes meaningfully to team execution and process improvement.

Responsibilities

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Co-manage assigned EV charging construction projects under the supervision of a senior construction project manager, taking ownership of specific project workstreams from preconstruction through commissioning.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestone trackers, and status reports; flag variances and risks proactively to the supervising project manager.
  • Support change order tracking and documentation; assist with evaluation of scope change impacts on cost and schedule under senior guidance.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, observe quality of work, and support punch walk documentation.
  • Maintain complete project documentation including permits, contracts, inspection records, as-builts, and grant-related files.

Stakeholder & Contractor Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams on assigned project tasks, including Site Development, Development Engineering, Supply Chain, and Asset Management.
  • Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors on day-to-day project coordination; track submittals, RFIs, and deliverable status with direction from senior construction managers.
  • Support utility and AHJ coordination, tracking interconnection milestones and permitting conditions; elevate delays or issues appropriately.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and notes; track and follow up on action items with project stakeholders.

Risk, Safety & Compliance

  • Identify and track project risks and open issues; maintain risk logs and elevate emerging concerns to the supervising project manager with recommended mitigation steps.
  • Observe and support enforcement of safety standards and OSHA compliance on project sites; report site safety observations accurately.
  • Maintain public funding documentation in accordance with NEVI, DOE, or state grant program requirements.

Team Development & Knowledge Sharing

  • Contribute to team process improvement by identifying documentation and workflow gaps and suggesting solutions.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
  • Combination of education and hands‑on experience in lieu of a formal degree.
  • 2‑4 years of experience in construction project coordination or management, with exposure to the full project delivery lifecycle.

  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling, permitting processes, and contractor coordination.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, or equivalent); experience with Salesforce or Sitetracker a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to coordinate effectively across internal teams and external partners.
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in EV charging, electrical, civil, or distributed infrastructure construction.
  • CAPM or PMP certification in progress or completed.
