Job Description

The Senior Area Manager, Retail Warehouse will oversee the operations of our retail distribution warehouse, including offsite locations. Responsibilities include leading teams, optimizing inventory management, ensuring timely product delivery, and maintaining safety and efficiency standards. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and warehouse logistics knowledge in a fast-paced retail environment are essential. You will play a key role in operational efficiency and overall company performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage inventory levels across multiple locations to ensure stock accuracy, minimize loss, and prevent stockouts.
2. Optimize warehouse space usage, ensuring efficient storage, layout, and organization.
3. Implement systems for cycle counts, reconciliation, and audits, overseeing accurate record-keeping and reporting.
4. Manage budgets, ensuring financial goals are met while maintaining efficiency.
5. Lead warehouse staff performance through training, coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
6. Participate in recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
7. Conduct performance evaluations, address disciplinary issues, and resolve employee relations concerns.
8. Develop staffing schedules to meet business demands, controlling labor costs.
9. Lead management and team meetings to promote collaboration and communication.
10. Coordinate with other departments and external partners to align operations and ensure timely distribution.
11. Ensure safe handling, storage, and transportation of goods, complying with all regulations.
12. Promote safety culture through training, audits, and safety objectives review.
13. Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment with the management team.
14. Implement loss prevention measures to maintain inventory accuracy and security.
15. Analyze warehouse performance daily, identifying and resolving issues.
16. Communicate regularly with senior management about performance and challenges.
17. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements.
18. Foster a culture of recognition within the warehouse.
19. Manage and oversee special projects throughout the year.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in warehouse and distribution management.
• Experience managing large-scale warehouse operations, preferably in food and/or retail distribution.
• Effective communication skills with vendors, employees, and management.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work rotating schedules, including holidays, weekends, and nights.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems, and relevant software.

Desired Characteristics

• A college degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field is a plus.
• Ability to manage offsite locations and ensure performance standards.
• Experience managing large teams in a 24/7 environment.

Additional Requirements

This role requires full-time on-site work at an NBCUniversal-designated location.
