Come transform Amazon Search using Large Language Models (LLMs). We are building new approaches to bring in a step change to both Amazon Rufus and Amazon Search.

You will innovate with your team to provide delightful answers to customers by incorporating world knowledge in matching and ranking models, and helping the models deeply understand semantic meaning in descriptive and conversational queries such as "light tent for snow camping with my son", “best toys for on the go” or “cheap plus size summer pajamas”.

Key job responsibilities

• You will analyze large scale datasets
• define metrics that reflect customer experience
• invent techniques that improve capabilities such as understanding of natural language queries, questions and conversations
• test your ideas in controlled experiments
• train, fine-tune and align Large Language Models (LLMs).
• distill Large Language Models into Fast Language Models and deploy them to operate at Amazon scale with imperceptible latencies
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
