Principal Applied Scientist, AI (FULLY REMOTE in the Bay Area, Seattle & NYC)

Join us as a Principal Applied Scientist, AI at Splunk . This role is fully remote in the Bay Area, Seattle, or NYC.

About the Role

As a Principal Applied Scientist in the AI group, you will develop core AI / ML capabilities to enhance Splunks product portfolio, driving digital resiliency for our customers. You will collaborate across teams, mentor junior scientists, and shape the scientific roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of AI / ML models for cybersecurity and observability.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to integrate generative AI solutions.
  • Stay updated with AI / ML research and incorporate advancements into our technology.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to strategic discussions on AI research and product development.
  • PhD in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of experience, or MS with 7+ years of industry experience.
  • Proficiency with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages used in AI research.
  • Proven expertise in AI / ML, including deep learning, NLP, time series, and unsupervised learning.
  • Experience with large-scale model development and deployment.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Mentoring experience.
  • Experience in cybersecurity and / or observability preferred.
