Responsibilities

• Create timelines and final detailed quotations; define product specifications on order.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality and other teams to meet timelines.
• Train and assist other application engineers and prepare technical presentations.
• Develop project reports for management review.

Position Title: Senior Application Engineer, NCC Automated Solutions

Location: Souderton, Pennsylvania, USA

Reports to: Director Sales & Applications, NCC Automated Solutions

Responsibilities

• Filters and/or responds to all customer and sales representatives’ inquiries.
• Determines the making/process feasibility of all modified or new systems and products.
• Meets with customers to discuss, refine and offer other product and enhancement/alternative options.
• Formulates and creates descriptive line-item quotations based on standard unit costs.
• Creates timeline schedule and final revised detailed quotation.
• Defines all of the product detailed specifications once an order is imminent.
• Meets with the engineering project group to transfer the project once a sale is complete.
• Creates quotes, manages and coordinates customer quotes and orders.
• Facilitates, manages or drives to completion with the appropriate internal departments special product orders.
• Trains and assists other application engineers.

Typical Duties Include

• Bid preparation
• Customer interface regarding technical issues, quality, and scheduling
• Liaison between customer and internal resources
• Perform technical reviews of request for proposals
• Generate commercial and technical proposals
• Work directly with management from manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and engineering to determine timelines.
• Create project reports for management review.
• Provide training and technical presentations for internal and external salespeople.
• Assist in preparation of marketing and technical documents.
• Develop strong internal relationships with product managers, application engineers, and outside sales force.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Requires 5-8 years of relevant application and technical sales experience.
• Requires mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and metric system conversions.
• Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, installation manuals, routings, and other manufacturing instructions.
• Requires a working knowledge of ERP systems.

Some travel may be required (20%) as technical support for the field sales engineers and/or support other locations.
