Job summary

CyberCoders is partnering with an innovative consumer technology organization to hire a Senior Android Power & Performance Engineer. You will optimize power consumption, battery life, and thermal performance on advanced Android-based embedded devices across software, firmware, drivers, kernels, and hardware.

You will work on system-level debugging, power characterization, and cross-functional investigation, using Perfetto, dumpsys, systrace, and related tools to drive measurable improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Android/embedded systems experience.
• Deep understanding of Android power management.
• Strong Embedded Linux experience.
• Experience with Qualcomm or similar mobile SoC platforms.
• Experience debugging power, battery, thermal, or performance issues.
• Strong C/C++ skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize Android power consumption across active, idle, sleep, suspend, and deep-sleep states
• Investigate battery drain, thermal throttling, wake events, and performance bottlenecks
• Debug issues across Android Framework, HAL, drivers, Linux kernel, firmware, and system services
• Utilize Perfetto, BatteryStats, dumpsys, systrace, kernel traces, and log analysis tools
• Correlate software behavior with measured power consumption and battery performance
• Develop structured validation and power characterization plans
