Job summary

Paradigm Nat'l is seeking a detail‑oriented Test Engineer to validate power consumption, thermal behavior, and system performance on Android-based consumer and embedded products. You will design and execute tests, analyze results, and collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

The role requires hands-on experience with power measurements on battery-powered devices and investigating regressions across hardware, software, and system layers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and software/system development.
• Demonstrated understanding of power consumption, thermal management, and performance characteristics in low-power embedded products.

Responsibilities

• Validate, troubleshoot, deploy, maintain, and support Android-based platforms and products with cross-functional teams.
• Plan and execute power and performance validation across device use cases and conditions.
• Perform detailed power measurements, including rail-level power characterization on battery-powered devices.
• Analyze power behavior in thermally constrained environments and identify efficiency improvements.
• Investigate abnormal power consumption and performance results to determine root causes.
• Design and execute performance tests measuring response time, throughput, and battery endurance.
• Use diagnostics and performance data to isolate hardware, software, or subsystem contributors.
• Document test procedures, measurements, findings, failures, and corrective actions.
• Communicate results effectively to engineers and project stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of validation methodologies and automated regression detection.
• Senior-level: trace power or performance regressions to specific components or layers.
