Job summary

Sigma Connectivity, Inc. seeks a meticulous Test Engineer to verify power and performance on Android-based consumer products. You will collaborate with software teams to test, troubleshoot, and optimize energy use while reporting clear results.

You will perform power measurements, engage in fast-paced cross-functional work, and contribute to diagnosing regressions across devices, wearables, and embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with Android perf testing and related tools.
• Proven problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent documentation of test results.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• 2+ years of rail-by-rail power measurements on battery powered systems.
• 2+ years in wearables or embedded systems with power/thermal optimization.
• 5+ years power/thermal experience for senior level (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers to test, troubleshoot, deploy, maintain, and support the platform.
• Conduct analyses to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and debug power-related tests and issues.
• Engage in daily cross-functional interactions in a fast-paced environment.
• Conduct power measurements for use cases of interest.
• Create and execute performance tests for key metrics (response times, throughput, resource utilization, battery life).
• Document and report test results clearly with recommendations for improvements.

We are seeking meticulous and skilled Test Engineer, focusing on testing and verifying power and performance on Android-based products. As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our consumer products.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with software engineers to test, troubleshoot, deploy, maintain, and support the platform.
• Conduct analyses to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and debug power-related tests and technical issues.
• Engage in daily cross-functional interactions in a fast-paced environment.
• Exhibit strong communication, planning, and execution skills
• Conduct power measurements for use cases of interest
• Conduct power characterization analysis within thermally constrained environments
• Create and execute performance tests to measure key metrics such as response times, throughput, resource utilization, and battery life.
• Collaborate with software engineers and stakeholders to understand system requirements and identify potential issues.
• Document and report test results clearly and concisely, including recommendations for improvements.
• For senior engineers, delve deeper to track down components to provide diagnostics for power and performance regressions

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of Android performance testing and tools like Bugreports, Perfetto, Battery Historian, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meticulously document test results.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
• 2+ years in doing rail by rail power measurements on battery powered systems like smartphones, smart watches, IOT devices or similar
• 2+ years working on wearable devices or embedded systems, with a track record of power and thermal optimization.
• 2+ years in Android system development, including system services, SDKs, application integration, and hardware abstraction layer (HAL) services.
• Familiarity with AR/VR technologies, including the spatial computing pipeline and associated tech stacks.
• Experience with CI frameworks, particularly for automated testing pipelines and detecting power regressions.
• Senior engineers have at least 5 years of experience in power and thermal-related work, or relevant systems knowledge on kernel, chipset, etc.
• Proven skills in power and thermal management for low-power embedded systems, particularly Wearables.
• Solid fundamentals in Electrical Engineering and Software development. In a leadership role, the candidate must mentor and inspire junior engineers and a well-rounded base is essential

We offer

The annual salary range for this role is $140,000 – $160,000 per year.

The Annual Salary depends on various job-related factors, including professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
