Job summary

American Airlines in Fort Worth seeks a Sr Analyst, Training to design and implement engaging safety and regulatory training across work groups. You will collaborate with the Learning and Development team to build impactful curricula that meet business goals.

Responsibilities include needs assessments, agile development, stakeholder communication, and mentoring junior designers, while maintaining currency with instructional design trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years applying instructional design to performance-based training.
  • 2+ years of technical writing experience applying training methodologies.
  • Experience with rapid content development tools.
  • Experience facilitating regulatory training programs.
  • Knowledge of LMS and Articulate 360 (preferred).

  • Use diverse teaching strategies to motivate learning.
  • Conduct needs assessments to analyze learner needs.
  • Consult with internal customers on design, development and revision.
  • Define course objectives and assessments to measure outcomes.

  • Leverage technology and multimedia to enhance training.
  • Identify additional training needs using data resources.
  • Stay current with instructional design trends and research.
  • Mentor other instructional designers / facilitators.
  • Complete other tasks as required.

What you'll do

  • Create effective and engaging instructional curriculum specifically crafted to produce desired learning outcomes and support the goals of the business
  • Employ a variety of teaching strategies conducive to motivating learning, including examples, practice, and interactivity
  • Conduct needs assessments to analyze learner background and instructional needs
  • Consult with internal customers regarding design, development and revision of their training products
  • Determine course objectives and the appropriate sequence in which to address them, and develop assessment items that accurately measure learning outcomes
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders to ensure projects proceed in a timely manner and deadlines are met
  • Use technology and multimedia appropriately to enhance training
  • Identify additional training needs by uncovering areas of opportunity using available data resources
  • Maintain currency with instructional design / facilitation skills, industry trends and research
  • Mentor other instructional designers / facilitators throughout the training development process
  • Complete other tasks as required
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • At least 2 years of experience applying instructional design to performance-based training
  • At least 2 years of technical writing experience applying training methodologies
  • Experience working with rapid content development tool(s)
  • Experience facilitating regulatory training programs
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Experience with learning management systems and knowledge of Articulate 360
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodologies
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly approachable and professional at all times
  • Ability to assess training needs, consult with internal customers, and develop appropriate instructional curriculum that produces desired learning outcomes
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization both verbally and written
