Job summary

American Airlines in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to drive strategic financial analysis and modeling across commercial and operations teams. You will develop complex models, benchmark industry trends, and deliver insights to support executive decision making.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA is preferred. Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL skills are essential, along with the ability to lead cross‑functional projects and communicate

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
• Previous strategic financial analysis experience creating or working on complex models
• MBA preferred; airline industry experience in Commercial, Operations, or Finance

Responsibilities

• Identifies opportunities for financial and operational improvement and leads cross-departmental teams to initiate change
• Provides industry benchmarking reporting and analysis
• Provides ad hoc support to various Commercial and Finance groups, often working as an internal consultant
• Maintains a comprehensive database of industry financial results, and deliver competitive insights that assist management in developing or altering strategic and financial objective
• Assists in development of executive and Board level presentation materials
• Maintains a positive relationship with internal finance, commercial, and operational groups to provide analytical insights and support strategic decisions across business units

• Prior experience within airline industry with experience in Commercial, Operations, and/or Finance

• Ability to logically structure analysis of complex issues using an analytical framework, and develop creative solutions to business challenges
• Ability to demonstrate analytical skills, with financial modeling and analysis experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of SQL and Access skills
