What Will You Be Doing?
The Senior Analyst–Network Analytics & Forecasting works to build processes and analysis that support route forecasting, network optimization, and long-term scenario planning. This role will be responsible for optimizing database architecture, data processing systems and implementation of data models. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical abilities to solve complex problems with data, a willingness to learn new technologies and tools, ability to apply their skills directly to business problems, and have a strong desire to work and solve problems in aviation.
Essential Functions
Technical
- Leverage capabilities in cloud environments and multiple data sources to identify signals and integrate those signals into modeling for forecasting and network optimization.
- Work on novel and innovative projects to solve Frontier’s unique network to both minimize cost and maximize revenue
- Identify opportunities to apply technical solutions to unsolved business problems in an original way
- Manage ETL processes in new and existing data pipelines to create clean datasets for use in analysis.
- Conduct ad-hoc projects, reports, and analyses as determined by management.
- Create documentation, code standards, code libraries, and workflows to enhance the Network Planning data infrastructure.
- Develop dynamic and flexible visualizations and dashboards to illustrate key trends and KPIs.
- Construct statistical & machine learning models and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders including Scheduling, PRM, FP&A, and Crew Planning.
- Assist the Network Capacity Planning team in optimizing future capacity plans through quantitative analysis.
Leadership/Communication
- Lead change across the organization by improving business processes and taking initiative to champion opportunities to generate revenue across the organization.
- Clearly communicate the actionable business implications of complex quantitative analyses to senior management.
- Achieve expert status in business and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; major(s) in Operations Research, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related analytical field strongly preferred; combination of education and work experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Master’s degree in quantitative field preferred.
- Previous professional use of SQL, Python, or R required.
- Previous professional experience using data required.
- 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or network planning.
- Airline experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Technical
- Advanced SQL skills to write complex, highly optimized queries against large datasets.
- Experience in statistical software such as Python or R.
- Demonstrated understanding of airline commercial metrics, economics, network design, and scheduling preferred.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks, such as Hadoop or Spark.
- Familiarity with cloud-based solutions, like Databricks.
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred.
- Experience with Excel
- Knowledge of statistics or machine learning.
Project Management/Communication
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to structure logical analytical approaches and to apply a range of quantitative techniques to solve business problems in an efficient, timely manner.
- Comfortable working self-sufficiently to creatively solve analytical challenges with limited data and under imminent deadlines.
- Proven ability to work independently and with a team.
