Job summary

Yoh Services LLC seeks a Senior Engineer, AI Engineering on a contract basis to design, build, and deploy enterprise AI capabilities. You will work across AI engineering, security, data, and business teams to deliver production-ready AI solutions that improve productivity and automate workflows.

The role requires hands-on experience with generative AI in secure enterprise environments, strong API and data pipeline skills, and a focus on governance and observability.

Job description

Yoh has an exciting contract opportunity for a Senior Engineer, AI Engineering to support a leading advanced technology organization. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys building practical, production-ready AI solutions that improve employee productivity, automate complex workflows, and expand the responsible use of AI across an enterprise environment.

The Senior Engineer will work across AI engineering, business systems, security, data, and other technical teams to develop reusable AI capabilities, integrations, agents, automation workflows, and measurement tools. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience deploying generative AI and large language model solutions in secure enterprise environments.

Title: Senior Engineer, AI Engineering
Type: Contract
Compensation: $85-115/hr DOE
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder (ITAR / CUI environment)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support enterprise AI applications, intelligent assistants, agents, workflow automations, prompts, and system integrations.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate manual or inefficient business processes and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Build AI-enabled capabilities for areas such as knowledge retrieval, document generation, meeting intelligence, internal search, task automation, and employee productivity.
• Develop reusable AI components, including APIs, connectors, service wrappers, prompt modules, data pipelines, templates, and integration frameworks.
• Integrate generative AI capabilities with enterprise applications, collaboration platforms, knowledge systems, data environments, and automation tools.
• Create clear technical documentation, implementation examples, and enablement materials that allow other teams to safely adopt shared AI services.
• Incorporate security and responsible AI controls related to data access, validation, logging, permissions, and safe model interaction.
• Support testing, evaluation, version management, deployment, monitoring, and rollback processes for AI models, prompts, agents, and related services.
• Develop dashboards and telemetry to track AI adoption, reliability, usage, operating cost, performance, and policy compliance.
• Analyze usage and system performance to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, lower costs, and stronger user adoption.
• Help quantify the business impact of AI solutions through metrics such as time savings, throughput improvements, reduced errors, and productivity gains.
• Collaborate across Engineering, IT, Security, Legal, Data, Finance, and business functions to deliver secure and maintainable solutions.
• Share reusable patterns, technical lessons, demonstrations, and best practices with broader AI and engineering communities.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience developing enterprise software, automation, data solutions, AI applications, or digital workplace technologies.
• Hands‑on experience implementing generative AI or large language model capabilities within production or enterprise environments.
• Experience with technologies such as LLM APIs, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, prompt orchestration, intelligent automation, or similar AI frameworks.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including API development, testing, observability, documentation, secure coding, and maintainable application design.
• Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems, collaboration tools, knowledge repositories, data platforms, or workflow automation technologies.
• Familiarity with AI security and governance concepts, including access controls, data classification, auditability, prompt safety, output validation, and version management.
• Experience developing telemetry, logging, dashboards, usage analytics, or cost/performance monitoring for production systems.
• Ability to translate loosely defined business challenges into practical technical requirements and working solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across both technical and non‑technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting technology in regulated, security‑sensitive, aerospace, defense, or highly governed environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms, copilots, vector databases, enterprise search technologies, and workflow automation ecosystems.
• Experience with MLOps, AI observability, model evaluation, prompt testing, agent testing, or production AI monitoring.
• Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, lakehouse environments, or comparable technologies.
• Background developing technology usage dashboards, cost reporting, chargeback/showback models, or ROI measurement.
• Experience contributing to shared engineering libraries, internal developer platforms, reusable templates, or technical enablement programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
