Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann Company, is hiring an Associate Cloud Engineer (AWS) in Irving, TX. This hybrid role focuses on deploying and supporting AWS infrastructure, writing IaC with CloudFormation or Terraform, and enhancing automation and CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience, strong scripting skills (Python/Bash/PowerShell), and solid knowledge of AWS core services. AWS SysOps/SAA certifications are required, plus exposure to multi-account environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting AWS infrastructure in production.
• IaC templates using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Working knowledge of AWS core services: compute, storage, databases, networking, and security.
• Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting (CloudWatch, PagerDuty or equivalent).
• Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Exposure to multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and Cloud Tower (Control Tower).
• Experience with cloud governance, cost optimization, and security controls.
• Foundational awareness of AWS Generative AI services (Bedrock) and cost implications.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity in AWS.
• Microsoft certifications or experience supporting Windows workloads in cloud.
• Bachelor's degree requirement met or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, administer, and support AWS infrastructure and services across multiple environments.
• Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Build and improve automation scripts that reduce manual operational work.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
• Monitor environments using CloudWatch and related tooling; respond to performance, availability, and security issues.
• Help implement and maintain AWS security controls and identity management (IAM).
• Participate in infrastructure projects, upgrades, and production support, including executing DR procedures and runbooks.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with software development, security, and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience supporting AWS infrastructure in production.
• You've written and modified IaC templates and understand what they deploy (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Working knowledge of AWS core services: compute, storage, databases, networking, and security.
• Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell — you've automated operational tasks, not just modify/run existing scripts.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting (CloudWatch, PagerDuty or equivalent).
• Demonstrated solid troubleshooting instincts — you can walk us through a problem you diagnosed and how you approached it.
• Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfort with Git‑based workflows.
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate Certification and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Certification (REQUIRED)
• Exposure to multi‑account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and/or Control Tower.
• Experience with cloud governance, cost optimization, and security controls.
• Foundational awareness of AWS Generative AI services (such as Amazon Bedrock) and their cost implications.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning within AWS.
• Microsoft certification/s and/or experience supporting Windows workloads in cloud.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience accepted in place of a degree).
• Able to participate in monthly IT maintenance and Development team code promotions (off‑hours and weekends).
• Weekly On‑call, rotation is every 6 weeks.

Estimated Min Rate: $84000.00

Estimated Max Rate: $120000.00
