Honeywell Datalink is a suite of advanced Avionics Communication solutions designed to enhance real-time data exchange between aircraft and ground operations. It represents a significant advancement in aviation connectivity, designed to enhance flight operations, situational awareness and improve efficiency for pilots, operators, and airlines by leveraging data connectivity in real-time. Real-time access enables pilots to make informed decisions quickly, adapting to dynamic conditions as they arise.

Honeywell Datalink platforms are designed to seamlessly integrate with various Avionics, Flight Management Systems (FMS) and Communication Management Function (CMF) systems, ensuring that pilots and operators can utilize existing systems while benefitting from the additional real-time communication services.

As a Sr Advanced Systems Engineer within our Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance (CN&S) group, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of sophisticated Avionics systems and solutions. In this role, you will have significant impact on the development and advancement of avionics technology for Aircraft Data Communications and Flight Management Systems (FMS).

In the high-stakes world of aviation, every detail matters, and your expertise will be fundamental in creating systems that protect lives and streamline operations. Our Honeywell Datalink Avionics Communications solutions play a crucial role in enabling seamless communication and data exchange between aircraft cockpit and ground systems and communication networks.

Key Responsibilities

+ You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing advanced Avionics Datalink Communications and FMS products.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams consisting of Systems, Software, Hardware and Test engineers to understand customer requirements and provide innovative solutions

+ Author high-level systems requirements in DOORs

+ Conduct system-level analysis and optimization

+ Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems

+ Decompose high-level system requirements into low-level SW requirements

+ Systems integration, validation, & verification

+ Model-based systems design and development

+ Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies

+ Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

+ 6+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, ideally in the avionics, aerospace or related disciplines

WE VALUE

+ Proficiency in systems lifecycle methodologies, requirements management, and adherence to industry standards

+ Proficiency in system-level analysis and optimization

+ Experience with system integration

+ Experience in related systems is of value i.e Avionics communication systems, datalink solutions, Flight Management Systems (FMS), satellite-based communication technologies, etc

+ Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

+ Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and certification processes

+ Strong leadership and communication skills

+ Passion for innovation and continuous learning
