We are seeking a hands-on, systems-savvy Sr Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and help transform our month-end close, AP, AR, and financial reporting processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and high-impact environment. You will work across teams to modernize processes, implement tools, and establish best practices.

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, month-end close, and the management of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll functions. The Senior Accounting Manager will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting activities.

SCHEDULE

Onsite at LA Office, Monday thru Friday including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and shorten the monthly close process to deliver accurate and timely financials.
• Improve close calendar, documentation, SOPs, and task tracking.
• Take ownership of the accounting function and supervise the full-cycle AP and AR processes.
• Lead implementation of a structured AP process using Bill.com or a similar AP system.
• Evaluate and redesign hospice billing and collections processes.
• Oversee invoicing workflows, monitor AR aging, and reduce DSO.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, coding, approvals, and payment processes.
• Act as accounting systems lead—manage and improve integration between QuickBooks, QS1, Bill.com, other systems and tools.
• Design scalable, well-documented processes that simplify complex tasks and reduce manual errors.
• Analyze data across systems to drive insights and improve accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain and improve chart of accounts, accounting policies, and internal controls.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal financial reporting.
• Support audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
• Perform period over period fluctuation analysis of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.
• Work with leadership to develop and maintain cash forecasting.
• Prepare budgets and rolling forecasts and explain variances.
• Ensure the accounting function supports broader business goals.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience; prior experience as Accounting Manager preferred
• 3 years of supervisory experience
• Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation or having actively participated in an ERP system rollout is preferred
• Proficient with QuickBooks and Excel; knowledge of Bill.com and QS1 a strong plus
• Demonstrated success owning and improving month-end close processes
• Strong systems mindset with a solid understanding of data fundamentals – experienced in improving workflows, driving system integrations, and ensuring accurate data flow across platforms.
• Ability to take complex tasks and develop clear, scalable processes
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office 365
• Ability to work independently and lead collaboratively
• Proficient in both verbal and written English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to perform essential office tasks, including prolonged periods of sitting, frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment, and occasional lifting or carrying of up to 25 pounds.
