Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller for a growing manufacturing company in Goshen, IN. You will oversee the full accounting function, report to the CFO, manage close processes, prepare financial statements, and analyze performance.

You will own day-to-day transactions, assist with cost accounting, standard costing, and provide financial insights to support operational decisions in a lean environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with GAAP in manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of accounting processes in manufacturing.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement prep.
• Proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Ability to work independently in a lean organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage full accounting cycle: A/P, A/R, GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Ensure invoices are generated and paid; monitor aging; assist collections; verify vendor invoices in Epicor.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules per GAAP.
• Analyze profitability, inventory, sales, gross margin, and operational reports to support decisions.
• Support standard cost accounting, inventory reconciliations, and 2–4 day month-end close.
• Monitor daily cash activity and maintain accurate records; partner with operations.
• Partner with CFO on day-to-day accounting and financial analysis in a manufacturing setting.

Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller

Location: Goshen, IN
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30/8am-4:00/4:30pm
Salary: $72,000-$80,000

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to oversee the full accounting function for a growing manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will be responsible for everything from ensuring invoices are sent and paid properly to closing the books, preparing financial statements, and analyzing financial performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a small-company environment where they can make an impact and take ownership of the accounting process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Ensure customer invoices are generated and sent timely, monitor aging reports, assist with collections efforts, and verify vendor invoices are processed accurately through Epicor.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze profitability, inventory, sales, gross margin, and operational reports to ensure accuracy and support business decisions.
• Support standard cost accounting, inventory reconciliations, and month-end reporting activities, with month-end close typically completed within 2-4 business days.
• Monitor daily cash activity and maintain accurate financial records while partnering with operations to ensure transactions are recorded properly.
• Work directly with the CFO, taking ownership of both day-to-day accounting tasks and higher-level financial analysis in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Required

• Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Standard cost accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger accounting, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs.
• Ability to work independently and wear multiple hats in a lean organization.

Preferred

• Experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller.
• Epicor experience.
• Inventory and cost accounting experience.
