Job summary

NextPath Workforce Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Tampa, FL. The position is hybrid and contract-based, with a salary of $35-45 per hour depending on experience.

The candidate should have 4–8+ years of accounting experience, strong GL and month-end close skills, and proficiency in Halo or QuickBooks. The role emphasizes automation with AI and collaboration with the Controller and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of accounting experience at the Senior Accountant level.
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills and proactive work style.
• Comfortable with AI-enabled process automation.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Clean up historical accounting inconsistencies to ensure accurate data.
• Execute AR/AP, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting tasks.
• Identify errors, inefficiencies, or gaps and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with the Controller to implement enhanced workflows and procedures.
• Leverage AI to streamline accounting operations.
• Adapt to shifting priorities across business stages.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients as needed.

Job description

NextPath Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Tampa, FL. This is a hybrid, contract position.

SALARY: $35-45/hour (depending on experience)

Requirements

• 4–8+ years of accounting experience at the Senior Accountant level

• Tech-savvy with a desire to utilize AI extensively for process automation
• Excellent communication skills, reliable, self-motivated, and proactive

• Execute AR/AP, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting tasks

• Work closely with the Controller to implement enhanced workflows and procedures
• Leverage AI and technology to streamline accounting operations
• Adapt to shifting priorities and support accounting functions across different business stages
• Collaborate with internal teams and directly with clients when needed
