Job summary

Taylor White is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in Tampa Bay to own a portion of the close and drive efficiency. This hands-on role focuses on accurate journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and improving processes with automation and AI where it saves time.

You will collaborate with operations, AP/AR, and leadership, handling ad hoc analysis and building robust Excel models to support close timelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong Excel skills (pivots and lookups).
• Curiosity about automation and AI, with a track record of improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation
• Own key pieces of the month-end close and help tighten the timeline
• Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations, researching and clearing variances
• Build and maintain analysis in Excel — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• Identify process improvement opportunities and put automation or AI tools to work where they'll save real hours
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, AP/AR, and leadership on requests and ad hoc analysis

Taylor White is partnering with a growing Tampa Bay area company to add a Senior Staff Accountant to their accounting team. This is a hands‑on role for someone who owns their piece of the close, spots the manual steps everyone else has accepted, and does something about them.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation
• Own key pieces of the month‑end close and help tighten the timeline
• Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations, researching and clearing variances
• Build and maintain analysis in Excel --- pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and the kind of workbook someone else can actually pick up
• Identify process improvement opportunities and put automation or AI tools to work where they'll save real hours
• Partner cross‑functionally with operations, AP/AR, and leadership on requests and ad hoc analysis

What you bring

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• Strong Excel skills (pivots and lookups without hesitation)
• Curiosity about automation and AI, and a track record of making a process better rather than just faster
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and hardworking — you double‑check the work and you're easy to work alongside

Compensation:

$60,000 – $85,000, commensurate with experience.
