You will work across Finance, FP&A, Payroll, Benefits, and AR, leveraging AI tools to optimize workflows and accelerate the close while upholding internal controls and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

Sr Accountant

Overview

Join a dynamic finance team as a Sr Accountant supporting a complex, multi-entity organization with a strong focus on technical accounting, process improvement, and operational excellence. This remote opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of month-end and quarter-end close activities, analyzing financial results, and improving processes through technology and automation.

In this role, you will work closely with Finance, FP&A, Payroll, Benefits, and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accurate reporting, strengthen internal controls, and resolve operational accounting challenges. You will also have the opportunity to apply AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to streamline accounting workflows and accelerate the close process.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of accounting experience, including strong general ledger and month-end close experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting
• Demonstrated experience with:
• Month-end and quarter-end close
• Journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• OPEX accruals and IBNR
• Capitalized commissions
• Incurred but not billed revenue
• Flux and variance analysis
• Experience working in a multi-entity environment, including intercompany transactions
• Proficiency with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system; NetSuite experience is required
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and analysis of large datasets
• Ability to identify, explain, and communicate material financial movements to finance leadership and non-accounting stakeholders
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ownership, integrity, self-motivation, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to identify and implement accounting process improvements and internal controls

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with FloQast and Zip
• Experience with foreign currency transactions
• Familiarity with technical accounting matters, including:
• Leases under ASC 842
• Internal-use software under ASC 350-40
• Capitalized commissions under ASC 340-40
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technology to automate accounting tasks and improve workflows
• Experience supporting external audits and owning prepared-by-client requests
• Big Four public accounting experience combined with industry accounting experience
• Experience with revenue accounting and related contract analysis

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Four or more years of progressive accounting experience
• Active CA/CPA certification or candidacy preferred
• Experience supporting medium-sized public or private companies preferred

• Work arrangement: Fully remote
• Duration: Approximately 1–3 months, with potential for conversion for the right candidate
• Ability to support a fast-paced finance environment and manage multiple priorities
