A global capital markets technology company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its global finance team. This role will support core accounting activities across multiple international entities, including month-end close, reconciliations, audit support, and financial analysis.
The Senior Accountant will also play an active role in process improvement and automation initiatives, with exposure to projects involving M&A integration, system implementations, and evolving accounting processes. Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close
- Prepare complex journal entries and support the month-end close process.
- Perform account reconciliation reviews in accordance with accounting policies and US GAAP.
- Conduct variance analysis against prior periods and provide clear commentary to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Leverage tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency.
Audit & Compliance
- Support U.S. consolidated and international statutory audits, serving as a key point of contact for external auditors.
- Coordinate with external accounting firms to ensure compliance with local filing requirements and deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
Process Improvement & Projects
- Identify inefficiencies within accounting workflows and implement scalable process improvements and automation.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of close management tools such as FloQast.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and documentation for key accounting processes.
- Support M&A integration, system implementation, and other special projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with FP&A, Legal, HR, and other internal stakeholders to support accurate internal and external reporting.
- Collaborate with international accounting teams to ensure consistency in accounting treatment across entities.
- Provide accounting expertise and support integration activities related to acquisitions and new business lines.
Qualifications
Required
- Active CPA certification.
- Progressive accounting experience within a global or national accounting, professional services, or consulting environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and US GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, accountable, and process-oriented mindset.
Preferred
- Big 4 public accounting experience or a combination of Big 4 and industry experience.
- Experience with a publicly traded company and/or public accounting firm.
- Experience in a high-growth technology or financial services environment.
- M&A integration or post-acquisition accounting experience.
- Experience with NetSuite or a similar enterprise accounting system.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting automation, business intelligence, or close management tools.
