Job summary

Yami is seeking a Sr Accountant to support accounting and business analytics, including month-end close, audits, and reconciliations of third‑party services. This role partners with retail, marketing, supply chain, and operations to explain financial impacts and drive process improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, an active CPA license, and at least 3 years of accounting experience, with advanced Excel skills and knowledge of QuickBooks/NetSuite.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and solid accounting software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective internal controls and reflect transactions accurately in the financial statements.
• Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Act as a business partner to cross-functional teams (retail, marketing, supply chain, operations) understanding financial impacts.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and workflows.
• Lead or participate in accounting-related projects to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff and foster professional development.
• Complete month-end close duties including recording and variance analysis.
• Prepare, review, and approve staff journal entries and GL reconciliations.
• Analyze balances and communicate unreconciled items to management.

Job Summary:

The Sr Accountant is responsible for a range of accounting and business support functions, including but not limited to compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data, as well as performing audits and resolving discrepancies for our third-party services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain effective internal controls to ensure transactions follow Company policies and are properly reflected on the financial statements.
• Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Act as a business partner to cross-functional teams particularly retail, marketing, supply chain, and operations helping them understand financial impacts of business decisions.
• Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and workflows.
• Lead or participate in accounting-related projects to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support, mentor, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the accounting team.
• Complete ad hoc projects to support the accounting, reporting, and finance operations, as needed.
• Complete month-end close duties accurately and timely (e.g. recording, performing variance analysis, etc.).
• Prepares and/or reviews and approves staff journal entries/G/L account reconciliation/balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
• Analyze balances to ensure accuracy. Identify and communicate unreconciled items to management.

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to effectively communicate across various organizational levels.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Minimum 3 years of accounting and/or finance experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Advanced understanding and knowledge in accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, NetSuite is a big plus, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Accounting and/or finance experience in the eCommerce and/or Consumer Product Goods (CPG)/ Supply Chain industry.
