Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics is seeking an experienced Operations Leader in Houston to oversee account performance and staff execution of service agreements. You will drive profitability through proactive communication and efficient scheduling, while managing budgets and staff development.

The role requires seven+ years in logistics or related fields, with supervisory experience. A high school diploma is required, bachelor’s degree preferred, and a strong track record in fast-paced environments is

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct and manage operations for the account to ensure service agreements meet client standards.
  • Maximize profitability through superior service and prompt communications.
  • Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules to support operational demands.
  • Manage revenue and expenses to budget constraints.
  • Train, develop and motivate employees to peak performance and growth.
  • Oversee financial aspects: purchasing, budget prep and review, financial reporting and expense monitoring.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Leads, directs and manages operations for account to ensure that the operations staff executes service agreements at or above the client's standards.
  • Maximize profitability through superior service, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending matters.
  • Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules and adjust accordingly to ensure adequate staffing levels that support operational demands and business objectives.
  • Manage revenue and expenses to budget constraints.
  • Trains, develops and motivates employees to peak performance and growth in their knowledge and responsibilities.
  • Manages the financial aspects of the department (purchasing, budget preparation and review, financial reporting and monitoring expenses).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web based and job specific software applications.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both clients and internal personnel.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Walking within the warehouse and inspecting freight

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED Required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Certifications & Licenses

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.
