Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics LLC in California seeks a seasoned Operations Leader to direct site operations, optimize profitability, and ensure client standards are met. The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and extensive experience in logistics and freight forwarding.

The successful candidate will oversee staffing, training, revenue management, and KPI execution, while maintaining excellent client communications and vendor relations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the logistics/freight forwarding industry.
  • 5 or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • 6-8 years industry experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct and manage site operations to ensure staff meet client standards.
  • Maximize profitability through superior client service and timely follow-up.
  • Plan daily staffing schedules to support operational demands.
  • Manage revenue and expenses to budget constraints.
  • Train, develop and motivate employees for peak performance.
  • Oversee accounts receivable including client invoicing and collections.
  • Process incoming vendor invoices and monitor costs.
  • Analyze market trends to develop scalable operations practices.
  • Execute KPIs per company standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Lead, direct and manage site operations to ensure that the operations staff executes service agreements at, or above the client's standards.
  • Maximize profitability through superior client service, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending matters with the client.
  • Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules, and adjusts accordingly to ensure adequate staffing levels that support operational demands and business objectives.
  • Manage revenue and expenses to budget constraints.
  • Responsible to train, develop and motivate employees to peak performance and growth in their knowledge and responsibilities
  • Ability to manage the financial aspects of the department (purchasing, budget preparation and review, financial reporting, and monitoring expenses).
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including client invoicing and collections, as needed
  • Process incoming vendor invoices (cost of transportation and overhead expenses), as needed
  • Analyze market trends to further develop scalable and strategic operations practices
  • Execution of the applicable KPI's per company standard
  • Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Walking within the warehouse and inspecting freight
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web based and job specific software applications
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both clients and internal personnel.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in the logistics/freight forwarding industry
  • 5 or more years of supervisory or management experience
  • 6 - 8 years industry experience required

California required disclosure: Salary range for this position is between USD 95,000 - 140,000 annually.
