Job summary

Spalding, a Saalex Company, seeks a SQL Server Database Administrator in Lexington Park, MD for hybrid work. The role demands administering SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS across on‑prem and AWS, ensuring DoD STIG compliance, and supporting cloud migration efforts.

Required are 7+ years of SQL Server admin experience or 9 years with HS, along with Security+ and strong performance tuning skills. Onsite two days per week near Pax River, US citizenship recommended.

Qualifications

• Systems‑level 2016/2019/2022 SQL Server administration experience required.
• Experience with performance tuning and query optimization required.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required (proof before interview).
• BS/BA or AA/AS degree and 7+ years related experience OR HS and 9 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and administer SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS in on‑prem and AWS environments.
• Configure SQL Server instances to comply with DoD STIGs.
• Collaborate with systems, storage, networking and web teams to resolve issues.
• Work with software engineers to configure and test databases, accounts, jobs, and mail.
• Troubleshoot databases, schemas, and user accounts.
• Configure and recover database backups.
• Perform daily checks of databases, backups, exports, jobs, and storage.
• Maintain team documentation (inventory, security plans, SOPs, STIG checklists).
• Assist with re‑platforming and migration of gov on‑prem databases and schemas to cloud environments: plan, docs, schedules, progress tracking, risks reporting.
