Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Fargo, ND, seeks a Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician to independently inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local codes. You will diagnose deficiencies, document results, train entry-level technicians, travel to job sites, and work under safety policies while delivering excellent service and keeping customers informed.

Must have strong technical ability, a clean driving record, and NICET certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and inspection procedures.
• Clean driving record and active driver's license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Complete required documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.

The Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician is responsible for independently performing inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
