Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Senior Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician to independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential settings.

This role requires NICET Level II or Kentucky SSR license, strong knowledge of fire sprinkler codes, and a valid drivers license. Travel to multiple job sites is expected; opportunities for growth and training are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems.
• NICET Level II or Kentucky Sprinklers Inspections License (SSR) required.
• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, codes, and inspection procedures.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record if driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Complete required documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Guide and support entry-level technicians and apprentices.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

The Sprinkler Test & Inspect Sr Technician is responsible for independently performing inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems. This position demonstrates strong technical competency, holds applicable licenses, and is capable of completing jobs independently. Must be licensed to test ad inspect sprinkler systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.

• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.

• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.

• Complete required documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.

• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.

• Guide and support entry-level technicians and apprentices.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

• Travel to job sites as required.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years of experience in the commercial and Residential Fire Sprinkler Systems.

• NICET Level II is required OR a Kentucky Sprinkler Inspections License (SSR)

• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, codes, and inspection procedures.

• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Other Duties:

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.

• Performs other duties assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
