Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician to independently inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local codes. The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work with customers on-site.

The candidate should have 3+ years in fire and life safety, an RME-I, and a willingness to travel to job sites. A Texas Fire Alarm License is preferred but not required; NICET Level I+ is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
• RME-I is required for the role.
• Texas Fire Alarm License is preferred but not required.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and inspection procedures.
• Clean driving record and active driver's license if driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Complete required documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.

The Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician is responsible for independently performing inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
