Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Irving, TX is seeking a Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician to independently inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems. You will ensure NFPA and local code compliance and document tasks accurately while traveling to job sites as needed.

The role requires 3+ years in fire and life safety, an RME-I, and a clean driving record; NICET I+ is preferred. Training and career development opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• RME-I required for the role.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety as apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I+ preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete tasks.
• Document inspections accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain clean, organized work environment.

The Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician is responsible for independently performing inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Complete required documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualifications

• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).
